‘India’s Got Talent’ is going to be unlike any other talent hunt show

The producers of reality show ‘India’s Got Talent’, the Hindi adaptation of ‘America’s Got Talent’, are left in the lurch as neither Preity Zinta nor Aishwarya Rai have time to be part of the show.

Talent hunt reality shows are hugely popular with the Indian audience. And many stars have marked their small screen debut via these shows. Recently, Karisma Kapoor and Sonali Bendre added oomph to the small screen by being judges on such shows. Koena Mitra decided to be part of reality dance show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’ to not only revive her sagging career but also improve her PR.

‘India’s Got Talent’ is going to be unlike any other talent hunt show. Here, like the American version, participants have to showcase their skills. It’s not only about singing and dancing, but stand-up comedy and various other talents will also be judged.

John Abraham is all set to venture into international cinema

Bollywood’s pin-up hunk John Abraham is all set to venture into international cinema with gangster flick 'American Empire'.

Abraham, who earlier earned rave reviews in the Deepa Mehta's Oscar nominated film Water , is currently reading the script of the film.

“I am pretty excited about the film. Right now I am reading the script and dwelling into the details of my character. I am really glad to be a part of it,” Abraham is quoted as saying.

The gangster drama will be directed by Director Andy Armstrong, who last made TV series 'The New Adventures of Robin Hood'. Armstrong will portray a bizarre picture of underworld with eccentric characters, angst and violence.

The 36-year-old actor, who is riding high on the success of gay-comedy Dostana , hopes that the sequel of the film will also charm the audiences.

Kareena Kapoor has emerged on the top 10 powerful people’s list of the film industry.

The Kapoor belle is the only woman featured in the top ten. Not just that, she’s also trumped the ethereal beauty Aishwarya Rai from the position of being the only female in the ten most powerful people of B-Town.

Overwhelmed and honoured with this new-gained position, Kareena says, "It's amazing that I'm in the power list although I've never applied much thought to the process of getting there."

The lady finds it flattering as well as scary to be on the list. According to her, power entails a lot of responsibility. But she also admits, "Power equations in the entertainment industry change minute by minute."

Hot gossip: Salman's snaps in Asin's bedroom!

The newest piece of goss from tinsel town is that there’s something brewing between Salman Khan and his London Dreams co-star Asin.

The two have been bonding big time on the sets of the Vipul Amrutlal Shah movie and their chemistry has extended beyond their work, something that could become a cause of worry for Katrina Kaif , Sallu’s present girlfriend.

Rumours say Asin has become so fond of Salman that she has the walls of her bedroom covered with the snaps and posters of the 43-year-old star.

A Mumbai tabloid even goes on to quote a source as saying that Salman has gifted a flat to Asin, who used to have permanent residence only in South till recently. Now, thanks to the said flat in Lokhandwala, she has a working base in Mumbai.

Another similar rumour doing the rounds in Bollywood is that of growing closeness between Preity Zinta and hotelier, businessman and small-time actor Vikram Chatwal . Cracks have reportedly appeared in Preity’s love life with longtime beau Ness Wadia, while on the other hand, Vikram’s marriage with Priya Sachdev is said to be on the rocks.

With their respective romantic affairs going through a rough patch, Preity and Vikram have begun bonding well, and the sparking chemistry between them was for all to see at the after party of Mai Mumbai show at Lakme Fashion Week.

Ken Ghosh has finally got Genelia D'Souza replaces Jiah Khan

Director Ken Ghosh has finally got an actress to replace Jiah Khan for his movie Yahoo. Now Genelia D'Souza will act in the flick.

The bubbly actress of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na has reportedly been signed as Ghosh was apparently not so pleased with Jiah, and thus thought of dropping her from the film. Sources reveal that Katrina Kaif and Kangana Ranaut were also approached, but both the actress turned down the project.

Jiah was signed when she was doing Ghajini . In fact, Jiah has shot for a considerable part of the film. But as Ghajini’s success didn’t help her star status much, Ken became skeptical about her presence in ‘Yahoo’. And after going through some of the rushes, Ken felt that the movie wasn’t shaping up as he expected.
Now, as Genelia’s PR is getting stronger, the lady is seen everywhere. Not only she is walking the ramp as star attraction but is doing stage shows and also getting into endorsements. Nikhil Advani wanted to cast John and Vidya together?

The awesome duo shared wonderful chemistry in Nikhil Advani ’s flop flick Salaam-e-Ishq . The actors were seen as love-dovey couple in the film and their sparkling off-screen chemistry was talk of the town.

Now, since Bhansali, who is producing, is not in a mood to sign Harman Baweja , he has roped in John to play one of the leads. And the film has Vidya Balan in a pivotal role. So again, the two actors could be seen sharing screen space in the film.

But the rumours of John-Vidya liaison has troubled John’s lovely girlfriend Bipasha Basu enough. In fact last year, when director Nikhil Advani wanted to cast John and Vidya together, an insecure Bipasha didn’t allow her beau to sign the film because of Vidya. The lady must have had sleepless nights hearing the news of their alleged link-ups. So it might happen again that Bipasha prods John to say no to a project with Vidya again.


As the things stand now, John’s name is finalized for the project. Chenab Gandhi will be directed by Vibhu Puri who was Sanjay’s assistant for many years. It’s a period film tracing the life of legendary freedom fighter Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan who was famous by the name Chenab Gandhi. Amitabh Bachchan will essay the character of Chenab Gandhi in the film.

Bollywood’s hottest babe has got two tattoos inked on her soft skin. One is on her chest and another is on her arm. However, the tattoos are erasable.



It is learnt that Katrina got inked for a photoshoot she did on Sunday. The gorgeous actress, who’s been sporting a fringe hairdo ever since she was declared the new face of Barbie dolls, did not remove the tattoos after the shoot and was seen flaunting them at the wrap-up party of director Rajkumar Santoshi’s film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.
The bash was held on Sunday night at producer Ramesh Taurani’s home in Khar.

All the important crewmembers came to the party and Katrina, particularly, was in a very jolly mood. She was cheery throughout the bash and was spotted sharing many laughs with co-star Ranbir Kapoor.

Is Sonam Kapoor dating with Abhay Deol?

Sonam was the first one to enter and the last one to leave at Abhay's birthday bash on Sunday (March 15) . According to a source, the bash was only for Abhay's non-filmi friends.


"As there was no one from Bollywood, the duo were completely relaxed and did not mind being spotted together," informs a source.

Also, Abhay was among one of the few personal guests invited by Sonam at the Delhi-6 premiere.

We also hear that their 'friendship' is ssoon turning professional as well. The duo would also sizzle in Anil Kapoor's production Ayesha, based on Jane Austen's novel Emma. Apparently, Sonam had recommended Abhay's name for the role of one of the leads in this three-hero project.




She has always liked Abhay's choice of movies. Ayesha might well be Abhay's first dig at a commercial movie."

Big B and SRK back together again

Director Vivek Sharma whose debut film Bhootnath starring Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan in a special role went on to win a lot of accolades at the box office.



Now he is once again planning to have the superstars in his next film. The director is planning to launch his own production house Film Zone Productions very soon. The director has already zeroed down on two projects and plans to start the film by the year end.
“My first film is titled Buddham Sharanam Ghachchami and it is a very violent film. I am planning to have big stars in the film. My next script needs to have both the superstars. I have narrated the subject to Amitabh Bachchan, I have yet to narrate it to Shah Rukh. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he will agree to do my project” says Vivek.
Meanwhile director Vivek Sharma is ready with his next project titled Kal Kisne Dekha. The film has been shot on various locales of South Africa and New Zealand and stars debutants Jacky Bhagnani and Vaishali Desai (grand daughter of filmmaker Manmohan Desai).

“The film is all about a young boy who can see the future. He has supernatural powers. I had signed the film before Bhootnath but when Ravi Chopra appraoched me with Bhootnath I could not hold back. I was keen to work with Amjitji and Shah Rukh whom I consider my local guardian” says Vivek.

Sushmita Sen upset & ends friendship with Bollywood King Khan!

Actress Sushmita Sen is said to be upset with Shah Rukh Khan.

Ex-Miss Universe Sushmita Sen was caught making quite a controversial statement this year at the Filmfare Awards. When she was asked to comment on the change in hosts this year, she commented, "We won’t miss Shah Rukh and Saif. We don’t look back, we look forward." This statement caused raised quite a few eyebrows within the industry and amongst fans.

Apparently, there is trouble brewing in the Sushmita-Shah Rukh friendship. Rumors have it that Sen is upset with SRK as he has delayed the release of her forthcoming Dulha Mil Gaya directed by "close friend" Muddasar Aziz. On the other hand, SRK too is upset with the producer of the movie, Vivek Vaswani who is promoting the film based on the single scene that SRK will be making a special appearance in. This caused the normally professional King Khan to refuse to shoot the scene, causing a delay in the films release.

Sushmita is naturally upset as she has not had a release in a while now and was looking forward to seeing herself on the big screen after a hiatus. While she has not accepted nor denied the situation, she did make her feelings known through her declaration at the award ceremony. Hopefully the situation is sorted out quick and "Dulha Mil Gaya" will see daylight of its release.

Oscar-nominated Brad Pitt’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button which sank without a trace, but you can expect the romantic Akshay-Ash starrer Action Replay to be a hit at the box office.

To start with, the film is one of Bollywood’s best kept secrets this year, especially because it brings Akki and Ash together again after their sensational pairing in Khakhi. Then, just as Brad Pitt does in Benjamin Button, Akshay goes through a reverse ageing process in Action Replay. The films starts with him at the age of 62 and goes on to show him becoming 26. From being a father, Akshay grows to be a fashionable young dude of the swinging 70s with bell bottoms and wide belts. The script of Action Replay was ready before Brad Pitt’s film released. The cinema world’s best make-up specialists, led by Paul Pattison (Braveheart and Mission Impossible 2), are being used to give shape to this ambitious film. Film-maker Vipul Shah begins shooting this month and is expected to release Action Replay around November or December when Shah Rukh Khan’s My Name is Khan and Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots are slated to hit the screens. "What we are attempting is very ambitious and it hasn’t happened in Indian cinema before" Vipul told BT.

"The film is an out-and-out romantic comedy but reversing time is the challenging element. We’re putting in a lot of effort to pull off this one. We have to keep improvising on our content and technical abilities all the time".

I just knew Shakeel was the one: Amrita Arora

It’s arguably the most important day of her life. And Amrita Arora is naturally excited as she prepares for her Christian wedding to beau Shakeel Ladak. The nikaah (wedding ceremony) is two days later.

"We were supposed to have a church wedding today," Amrita chatters excitedly as the makeup lady does her most challenging job ever for the actress. "But there were some security hassles. So we quickly moved the venue to Olive. But no hassles because we always had a standby ready."

Amrita gives full credit to her sister Malaika for all the arrangements. I’m blessed to have such a supportive family. I’ve my wedding today(Wednesday 4 March) and I’m talking to you while my folks are taking care of everything. The bride got emotional as her mother reminded her she needed to hurry up with the dressing up.

But Amrita decided to get introspective. "You know, the minute I set my eyes on Shakeel I knew he was the man I wanted to marry. It’s like a karmic connection. I just felt it. I had never felt this before. Shakeel is everything that I want my husband to be. And I’m determined to make our marriage work. I’ll do whatever it takes."

Ask her about the honeymoon which will follow the sangeet on Thursday and the nikaah on Friday and Amrita shrugs, "The problem is, both Shakeel and I are so widely traveled we’ve nowhere to go that we can claim as being our private honeymoon spot. There doesn’t seem to be any place that neither of us has not visited. I guess we’ll just hold each other’s hand close our eyes and point to any part of the globe as our honeymoon spot. It doesn’t matter where we go as long as we’re together."
