‘India’s Got Talent’ is going to be unlike any other talent hunt show

The producers of reality show ‘India’s Got Talent’, the Hindi adaptation of ‘America’s Got Talent’, are left in the lurch as neither Preity Zinta nor Aishwarya Rai have time to be part of the show.

Talent hunt reality shows are hugely popular with the Indian audience. And many stars have marked their small screen debut via these shows. Recently, Karisma Kapoor and Sonali Bendre added oomph to the small screen by being judges on such shows. Koena Mitra decided to be part of reality dance show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’ to not only revive her sagging career but also improve her PR.

‘India’s Got Talent’ is going to be unlike any other talent hunt show. Here, like the American version, participants have to showcase their skills. It’s not only about singing and dancing, but stand-up comedy and various other talents will also be judged.

Shahrukh Khan has bared his heart and expressed his disappointment

For the first time, Shahrukh Khan has bared his heart and expressed his disappointment over his team’s poor start at the ongoing IPL tournament in South Africa.

Kolkata Knight Riders have been one team in the whole group of eight that has courted maximum controversy in the days leading up to the T20 IPL tournament. Be it coach John Buchanan’s decision to have multiple captains and the subsequent removal of Sourav Ganguly as the permanent captain, or the criticism of the team’s strategy by a legend like Sunil Gavaskar, or Shahrukh’s undiplomatic response to Gavaskar’s criticism, nothing seems to have clicked for the Knight Riders so far in this season of IPL.

On top of it the team has lost crucial matches, including the one with Rajasthan Royals on April 23 which KKR seemed poised to win until Shane Warne’s boys snatched the victory away from SRK’s knights.

Perhaps the defeat to the Royals was difficult to digest for SRK, for he poured his heart out after the loss.

Shilpa Shetty and Raj do plan to marry someday

Shilpa and Raj have admitted in the past that they do plan to marry someday, the wedding date was never revealed; not until now, that is.

The couple is presently in South Africa for the ongoing IPL tournament and is supporting the Rajasthan Royals team in which they have a stake. While their team hasn’t been off to a good start – losing the first match and getting just a point in the second rain-washed match – Shilpa and Raj have a reason to cheer.

Their respective mothers have reportedly been bonding quite well in Cape Town and have even been planning the couple’s marriage.


In fact, even though the wedding is still many months away, the lovebirds have already decided their nests. In Mumbai, the couple will stay at Shilpa’s Ruia Park bungalow. In London, Raj has bought a sprawling house at St. Georges Hill in Weybridge, where Raj’s parents will also be staying with the couple after their marriage.

Moreover, they have also planned rooms for children in the house.

'F' word in the Yashraj film

‘F’ word in a dialogue in the Yashraj film New York .

The film, starring John Abraham , Katrina Kaif , Neil Nitin Mukesh and Irrfan Khan , is the story of a bunch of friends whose lives go for a toss after they are arrested as terror suspects following the attacks on the twin towers in New York.

The Censor Board officials found the dialogue objectionable and told the director that it could be cleared only if the film gets an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate. But director Kabir Khan (who previously made Kabul Express ) doesn’t want to restrict his audiences.

‘New York’ was initially slated to release in May but given the ongoing strike of producers/distributors regarding the revenue sharing spat with the multiplexes, the film has reportedly been postponed to June.

Salman upcoming film "Prem The Game"

Bollywood star Salman Khan has found a new way to pass on his luck to younger brother Arbaaz Khan - by passing on his lucky screen name Prem.

The actor suggested that Arbaaz name his character Prem in his upcoming film "Prem The Game", where he plays the lead.

"Earlier, Arbaaz's character was called by a different name. But Salman suggested that he call his character Prem. So, Arbaaz changed his name to 'Prem'," said a source close to the actor.

Salman's character in 1989 hit "Maine Pyar Kiya" was called Prem and the actor never looked back since then. He later went on to do many films with the same character name as he considered the name lucky. Some of these movies were "Hum Saath-Saath Hain", "Biwi No.1" and "Chal Mere Bhai", among others.

Priyanka not to overstress herself

Priyanka, with her recent trip to the hospital for food poisoning and stomach infection, had been advised to go off alcohol. Not that she was too fond of it, but she did have a glass of wine or champagne with close friends like me.

But my birdie recently got the spicy khabar that Shahid has been too worried with his latest girl's health problem, and has asked Piggy Chops to abstain from drinking.

The birdie chirped, "Shahid had been advising Priyanka not to overstress herself. He has also asked her to take up yoga and meditation to keep herself fit and relaxed. However, since she had allotted dates for Ashutosh Gowariker's What's Your Rashee? there was no way she could back out."

He also informed that since Priyanka's parents are doctors, she had been following their advice on health, but of late she took heed of Shahid's request to practice yoga.

Hot Katrina, Abhay and Imran Khan now in a Love Triangle!

A claimed Dibaker Banarjee who not only left audiences in awe of his talent with his first release, "Khosla Ka Ghosla" but even managed to leave quite an impression after his second venture Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, is now ready to take on yet another challenge and unique take on cinema.

The director who has so far worked with smaller names in his films is planning for a star cast with great star power for his next venture, which is rumoured to be a love story.

Sources have identified to Mid-Day that the cast in mind is Katrina Kaif, Imran Khan and Abhay Deol whom the maker is very keen to repeat right after having worked with the hot and happening talent in Oye Lucky Lucky Oye!

The director has yet to confirm the rumours, however sources also indulged in a small intriguing fact about the role of Abhay Deol who is to supposedly play a gay character in the movie.

Shahrukh Khan film trouble again

Shah Rukh Khan's "Dulha Mil Gaya" produced by Viveck Vaswani is in trouble again. Apparently, Anil Ambani's BIG Pictures has given up on the rights of this film.

Trade sources reveal, "BIG Pictures had already invested a good amount in the making. Despite that, this withdrawal has come since the company is on a re-strategising spree in the times of recession. On the other hand, Viveck Vaswani hopes that once he is finally ready with the film, he will re-offer the film to BIG and if that doesn't happen, he may refund the money to them."

COO BIG Pictures, Sunir Kheterpal declined to comment on the issue but assured to update us with any further development.

The film also sees Fardeen Khan and Sushmita Sen with SRK in an extended special appearance.

As for the film's progress, sources claim, some of SRK's portions are yet to be shot. Though there was buzz that the film will hit the marquee on July 3, the ongoing producers versus multiplex owners tussle suggests it may be pushed further.

Hot gossip: Salman's snaps in Asin's bedroom!

The newest piece of goss from tinsel town is that there’s something brewing between Salman Khan and his London Dreams co-star Asin.

The two have been bonding big time on the sets of the Vipul Amrutlal Shah movie and their chemistry has extended beyond their work, something that could become a cause of worry for Katrina Kaif , Sallu’s present girlfriend.

Rumours say Asin has become so fond of Salman that she has the walls of her bedroom covered with the snaps and posters of the 43-year-old star.

A Mumbai tabloid even goes on to quote a source as saying that Salman has gifted a flat to Asin, who used to have permanent residence only in South till recently. Now, thanks to the said flat in Lokhandwala, she has a working base in Mumbai.

Director Ken Ghosh has finally got an actress to replace Jiah Khan for his movie Yahoo. Now Genelia D'Souza will act in the flick.

The bubbly actress of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na has reportedly been signed as Ghosh was apparently not so pleased with Jiah, and thus thought of dropping her from the film. Sources reveal that Katrina Kaif and Kangana Ranaut were also approached, but both the actress turned down the project.

Jiah was signed when she was doing Ghajini . In fact, Jiah has shot for a considerable part of the film. Nikhil Advani wanted to cast John and Vidya together?

The awesome duo shared wonderful chemistry in Nikhil Advani ’s flop flick Salaam-e-Ishq . The actors were seen as love-dovey couple in the film and their sparkling off-screen chemistry was talk of the town.

Now, since Bhansali, who is producing, is not in a mood to sign Harman Baweja , he has roped in John to play one of the leads. And the film has Vidya Balan in a pivotal role. So again, the two actors could be seen sharing screen space in the film.

But the rumours of John-Vidya liaison has troubled John’s lovely girlfriend Bipasha Basu enough. In fact last year, when director Nikhil Advani wanted to cast John and Vidya together, an insecure Bipasha didn’t allow her beau to sign the film because of Vidya. It’s a period film tracing the life of legendary freedom fighter Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan who was famous by the name Chenab Gandhi. Amitabh Bachchan will essay the character of Chenab Gandhi in the film.

Is Sonam Kapoor dating with Abhay Deol?

Sonam was the first one to enter and the last one to leave at Abhay's birthday bash on Sunday (March 15) . According to a source, the bash was only for Abhay's non-filmi friends.

Farah again reunites husband with Shahrukh

Farah Khan has helped her husband Shirish Kunder and Shah Rukh over the sore feelings evlved after Shah Rukh turned down Shirish’s film Joker.

Reportedly, Shah Rukh has been a comedy by Shirish titled Tees Maar Khan.

Likewise, doubts are still in place as Shah Rukh has not yet accepted to work in Shirish’s new project and if Shah Rukh refuses this offer, then in most probable cases even Farah wouldn’t be able to help the two men out.
