Kites movie box office hit and total collection report

Kites grossed over 650 million rupees ($14 million) worldwide on its opening weekend.

The film unfurled May 21 on 2,300 screens worldwide, which RBP claimed made “Kites” the biggest Indian release ever, including 1,800 screens in India and over 500 screens in major territories such as the U.S., U.K., Australia and 32 other countries.

One of the most anticipated movies of the year, “Kites” stars top actor Hrithik Roshan with Mexican actress Barbara Mori as star-crossed lovers and is directed by Anurag Basu.

Budgeted at $20 million and shot entirely in the U.S., “Kites” is produced by veteran filmmaker (and Hrithik's father) Rakesh Roshan via his banner Filmkraft.
