The film, directed by first-time director Jehangir Surti, starts out well. Out-of-work photographer Ray inherits a camera from his grandfather which predicts the future through photographs. Well, we know it sounds quite silly to have such cameras in the first place, but then, why doubt the power of science. After all, we believed in Matrix, didn’t we? Soon Ray earns enough money to buy his girlfriend expensive wine and a bungalow for himself. But then, he gets noticed too - both by Indian intelligence and a gangster. And now he has three enemies to run away from - the crook, a dishonest intelligence officer and his own impending death. What’s interesting is that the hero, for a change, is terrible at kicking butts. He can’t match up to the villain if it’s a fist fight. Good departure from old days, now we have more human protagonists, who are both grey in character and weak in strength.
The first half sees the story build up with good pace. A stylish editing helps. But the second half slacks because of scripting issues. The cinematography is consistent. Music – both background and playback - is quite a highlight and peps up the mood. Dialogues could have been better if not memorable. Neil Nitin Mukesh yet again comes up with a winning performance. He is especially good with scenes when he does the ‘scared look’. Agreed you don’t get a Johnny Gaddaar everyday in your career, nevertheless, he makes good of this opportunity too. Bipasha looks awesome throughout and does well too. Rahul Dev deserves praise for underplaying his character so well and staying away from typical, exaggerated villains. Sophie Chaudhary, however, is a huge weak link.
Overall, Aa Dekhen Zara is a masala entertainer despite its scientific background. Director Jehangir Surti does well in directing a film which needs to be shot completely backwards because of the photographs which are supposed to reveal the future.
Bollywood entertainer to go turn
First it was India's "rock stars of cricket", and now a bevy of Bollywood beauties has hit Hamilton.
Late-afternoon shoppers at Westfield Chartwell got a sample of the colour, dance and music of the touring Dreamgirls of Bollywood show when dancer Aditi Bhagwat strutted her stuff in the mall, accompanied by tabla player Pandit Kalinath Mishra.

The show's producer, Rama Khanna, said New Zealand was the 29th country the show had visited, and the two Hamilton performances this week followed a successful stint at Auckland's SkyCity.
Mr Khanna described Dreamgirls of Bollywood as a story-based musical aimed at bringing together the memories and themes of Bollywood's past, present and future, and presenting them to an audience beyond the Indian community.
"We had a fantastic response in Auckland, and we're looking forward to a great performance in Founders Theatre," he said.
Mr Khanna said alongside cricket Indian's national sport Bollywood music, cinema and performance was the most followed entertainment in India, and was growing increasingly popular across the world.
"I think Bollywood has even more passion than cricket. We're spreading the Indian culture, and it's mingling with world culture," he said.
Tickets for the shows tomorrow and Thursday are available from TicketDirect.
Priyanka was dressed in the family heirloom- a pink sari
"This is Indiraji's saari. She was shorter than me. I have to do some modification in wearing it as I am taller than her," 36-year-old Priyanka said with a giggle when reporters pointed out that she resembled the former prime minister and even dressed like her.

On her wedding in 1996, Priyanka was dressed in the family heirloom- a pink sari worn by her mother and grandmother had donned at their wedding.
Asked what she would do after April 30 when polling concludes in Sonia's constituency Rae Bareli, the mother of two said, "I will take care of my children and will get their home work done".
Priyanka has so far said that she will only campaign in Amethi and Rae Bareli where her brother Rahul and mother Sonia Gandhi are contesting respectively.
Asked whether her joining Rahul at Barabanki public meeting yesterday was any indication of her plans to join full fledged politics, Priyanka said there was no "political thinking" behind it.
"I had not seen my brother for more than 10 day. So when I went to meet him at the airport he asked me to accompany him. There was no political thinking behind it. I did not even deliver any speech there," Priyanka said.
‘India’s Got Talent’ is going to be unlike any other talent hunt show
The producers of reality show ‘India’s Got Talent’, the Hindi adaptation of ‘America’s Got Talent’, are left in the lurch as neither Preity Zinta nor Aishwarya Rai have time to be part of the show.

Talent hunt reality shows are hugely popular with the Indian audience. And many stars have marked their small screen debut via these shows. Recently, Karisma Kapoor and Sonali Bendre added oomph to the small screen by being judges on such shows. Koena Mitra decided to be part of reality dance show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’ to not only revive her sagging career but also improve her PR.
‘India’s Got Talent’ is going to be unlike any other talent hunt show. Here, like the American version, participants have to showcase their skills. It’s not only about singing and dancing, but stand-up comedy and various other talents will also be judged.
Now after Preity and Aishwarya’s no, the channel is on the lookout for a big star who can be the USP of the show.
Shahrukh Khan has bared his heart and expressed his disappointment
For the first time, Shahrukh Khan has bared his heart and expressed his disappointment over his team’s poor start at the ongoing IPL tournament in South Africa.

Kolkata Knight Riders have been one team in the whole group of eight that has courted maximum controversy in the days leading up to the T20 IPL tournament. Be it coach John Buchanan’s decision to have multiple captains and the subsequent removal of Sourav Ganguly as the permanent captain, or the criticism of the team’s strategy by a legend like Sunil Gavaskar, or Shahrukh’s undiplomatic response to Gavaskar’s criticism, nothing seems to have clicked for the Knight Riders so far in this season of IPL.
On top of it the team has lost crucial matches, including the one with Rajasthan Royals on April 23 which KKR seemed poised to win until Shane Warne’s boys snatched the victory away from SRK’s knights.
Perhaps the defeat to the Royals was difficult to digest for SRK, for he poured his heart out after the loss.
Shilpa Shetty and Raj do plan to marry someday
Shilpa and Raj have admitted in the past that they do plan to marry someday, the wedding date was never revealed; not until now, that is.

The couple is presently in South Africa for the ongoing IPL tournament and is supporting the Rajasthan Royals team in which they have a stake. While their team hasn’t been off to a good start – losing the first match and getting just a point in the second rain-washed match – Shilpa and Raj have a reason to cheer.
Their respective mothers have reportedly been bonding quite well in Cape Town and have even been planning the couple’s marriage.
In fact, even though the wedding is still many months away, the lovebirds have already decided their nests. In Mumbai, the couple will stay at Shilpa’s Ruia Park bungalow. In London, Raj has bought a sprawling house at St. Georges Hill in Weybridge, where Raj’s parents will also be staying with the couple after their marriage.
Moreover, they have also planned rooms for children in the house.
'F' word in the Yashraj film
‘F’ word in a dialogue in the Yashraj film New York .

The film, starring John Abraham , Katrina Kaif , Neil Nitin Mukesh and Irrfan Khan , is the story of a bunch of friends whose lives go for a toss after they are arrested as terror suspects following the attacks on the twin towers in New York.
The Censor Board officials found the dialogue objectionable and told the director that it could be cleared only if the film gets an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate. But director Kabir Khan (who previously made Kabul Express ) doesn’t want to restrict his audiences.
‘New York’ was initially slated to release in May but given the ongoing strike of producers/distributors regarding the revenue sharing spat with the multiplexes, the film has reportedly been postponed to June.
Salman upcoming film "Prem The Game"
Bollywood star Salman Khan has found a new way to pass on his luck to younger brother Arbaaz Khan - by passing on his lucky screen name Prem.

The actor suggested that Arbaaz name his character Prem in his upcoming film "Prem The Game", where he plays the lead.
"Earlier, Arbaaz's character was called by a different name. But Salman suggested that he call his character Prem. So, Arbaaz changed his name to 'Prem'," said a source close to the actor.
Salman's character in 1989 hit "Maine Pyar Kiya" was called Prem and the actor never looked back since then. He later went on to do many films with the same character name as he considered the name lucky. Some of these movies were "Hum Saath-Saath Hain", "Biwi No.1" and "Chal Mere Bhai", among others.
Priyanka not to overstress herself
Priyanka, with her recent trip to the hospital for food poisoning and stomach infection, had been advised to go off alcohol. Not that she was too fond of it, but she did have a glass of wine or champagne with close friends like me.

But my birdie recently got the spicy khabar that Shahid has been too worried with his latest girl's health problem, and has asked Piggy Chops to abstain from drinking.
The birdie chirped, "Shahid had been advising Priyanka not to overstress herself. He has also asked her to take up yoga and meditation to keep herself fit and relaxed. However, since she had allotted dates for Ashutosh Gowariker's What's Your Rashee? there was no way she could back out."
He also informed that since Priyanka's parents are doctors, she had been following their advice on health, but of late she took heed of Shahid's request to practice yoga.
There is no love between Ranbir and Deepika
Ranbir’s sister says there is no love between Ranbir and Deepika…

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s relationship, everybody knows well. It’s been churning out news since the day they fell in love with each other. But there is one person who declines it. She is none other than Ranbir’s sister Riddhima.
Ridhima says that there is no relationship or love between Ranbir and Deepika. It’s just a created story by the media. Otherwise they have nothing in between. Their on screen chemistry is strong so people think they are in love.
By the way, your mother seems to be showing that there is a love rapport between them. Besides, both Ranbir and Deepika have many a time admitted it.
Salman Khan again under complaints
Salman Khan has been campaigning for the politicians. And we heard about him campaigning for renowned politicians.

One of them is Priya Dutt. But during a campaign, a damage occurred to Lord Krishna Idol. Thus a BJP BJP corporator Harshit Talati files a complaint against him.
This is what happened that an idol of Lord Krishna got damaged while Salman Khan was campaigning for the congress’ leaders. This campaign was conducted in Vadodara by the congress workers in the Waghodiya road area and the Uma Char Rasta area. BJP corporator Harshit Talati sent a complaint against the Bollywood star to the election commission nodal officer for this damage.

Shahrukh Khan film trouble again
Shah Rukh Khan's "Dulha Mil Gaya" produced by Viveck Vaswani is in trouble again. Apparently, Anil Ambani's BIG Pictures has given up on the rights of this film.

Trade sources reveal, "BIG Pictures had already invested a good amount in the making. Despite that, this withdrawal has come since the company is on a re-strategising spree in the times of recession. On the other hand, Viveck Vaswani hopes that once he is finally ready with the film, he will re-offer the film to BIG and if that doesn't happen, he may refund the money to them."
COO BIG Pictures, Sunir Kheterpal declined to comment on the issue but assured to update us with any further development.
The film also sees Fardeen Khan and Sushmita Sen with SRK in an extended special appearance.
As for the film's progress, sources claim, some of SRK's portions are yet to be shot. Though there was buzz that the film will hit the marquee on July 3, the ongoing producers versus multiplex owners tussle suggests it may be pushed further.
