Synopsis:
Evan Gray, a young man with Down syndrome, lives with his mother in a working-class town hit hard by the recent Recession. Evan is hopelessly in love with his high school crush, Candy, now a single mom who is facing insurmountable debt, possible eviction, and a relentless volatile, ex-boyfriend named Russ.

When Evan unexpectedly inherits a large sum of money, he’s found the best use possible… to pursue Candy and help her out of her crisis. In no position to turn down any offer of financial support, Candy hesitantly accepts Evan’s gift, but sadly, is unable to return his love.

Thus begins an emotionally intense entanglement as Russ, Candy and Evan become intertwined in a complex triangle of secrets, jealousy, and revenge. Despite his many hardships, a resilient Evan struggles to maintain his compassionate spirit and dignity.
